Welcome Northfield Wines and Otuwhero Estates

Glen Ellen, CA (November, 2007) -- The Oceania Wine Group is proud to announce importing two of the newer artisan wineries in New Zealand, Northfield Wines of Waipara Valley, and Otuwhero Estates of Awatere Valley in Marlborough.

Northfield Wines, started and owned by John and Sharon Chappell, is a small, family-run wine grower and producer with vineyards in both New Zealand and the United States. John and Sharon Chappell's history began seven years ago with an ideal property in the beautiful Waipara Valley, north of Christchurch on New Zealand's South Island. They soon expanded their operation to their other home, California. The Chappell's found the perfect small vineyard in the Napa Valley in 2006 that is currently undergoing restoration.

Oceania Wine Group will import their Sauvignon Blanc-Sémillon, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir, all from Waipara Valley.

Otuwhero Estates is one of the newest wineries in New Zealand's legendary Marlborough region, and specializes solely in premium Sauvignon Blanc from the renowned Awatere Valley.

The Marlborough region produces outstanding sauvignon blanc in a distinct style recognized around the world, and the Awatere Valley within it is producing distinct and increasingly sought after styles of this variety.

Crafted from grapes grown in carefully developed vineyards in a pure, cool-climate area known as the Otuwhero, O:TU Sauvignon Blanc truly and absolutely reflects this area's characteristics.

Started in 2006, Oceania Wine Group is an assemblage of wineries focused on artisan, boutique, hand-crafted wines of uniqueness and distinction. The company searches for those wines throughout Oceania (New Zealand, Tasmania, and Australia) and wine-growing regions around the world.
